The latest from composer/producer virtuoso guitarist KALI is a groundbreaking masterpiece of traditional instruments playing dance-floor styled jams. From beginning to end each carefully crafted journey builds and flows with colorful guitars, thick bass, crystal clear drums and lots of rich sampling and analog synthesizers. It's remarkable how KALI combines cinematic drama with conscious house and trance music. The bright clarity and confident joyousness of "Gelatin Coated" and "Dose 1 or 2 pills" express a wonderful feel good vibe while "No. 284" and "100" get downright tribal with wild percussion and smooth heavy hitting bass sounds. The first single, "Pills", features a delicious interplay between an aggressive and decidedly male electric guitar, and a languid female voice, getting quite erotic as they mesh. The whole album creates a dramatic journey through wonderlands of delicious sounds and textures. KALI'S latest self titled album is the product of his live electronica ensemble that creates really dynamic and compelling music by embracing modern dance-floor music. KALI'S live sets of House, Trance, and Drum & Bass, is mixed live with plenty of old school real time DUB. When asked where it all began Kali replied, "I wanted to build an ensemble of players and machines which together could provide the hypnotic, powerful, and seamless transcendence of a really good DJ experience while also having the excitement and personality you get from a group of live performers."
